**Trizonia is the only inhabited island in the Gulf of Corinth, a green, car-free islet about 600 metres off the mainland where the whole island belongs to pedestrians.** With no cars or motorbikes allowed, a good natural harbour and a handful of tavernas along the waterfront, Trizonia is a place people come to for peace and quiet, reached in five minutes by caique from the coast.

## The island of Trizonia

Trizonia lies about 600 metres off the coast between the north of the Peloponnese and the Greek mainland, the only inhabited island in the Gulf of Corinth, with three uninhabited islets - Agios Giannis, Prasoudi and Planemi - around it and Athens 240 kilometers away. It is green with pine and olive trees and vineyards, and uniquely car-free: no cars or motorbikes are allowed, so the whole island is for walking. A good natural harbour gives it a regular link to the mainland - a 5-minute caique from the village of Chania, just east of Nafpaktos - and its roughly 250 residents run the traditional tavernas, restaurants and kafenions along the harbour, backed by several beaches to choose from.

### Drymna Hotel

The family-owned Drymna Hotel stands on a small hill overlooking the natural harbour, now a marina for pleasure craft, so its eleven well-equipped rooms all have balconies and sea views. Simple, comfortable and unpretentious, it has a restaurant serving fresh fish, a bar and breakfast room and a 24-hour reception; rooms come with air conditioning and heating, satellite TV, a mini fridge, a safe and a private bathroom.
