Kini is a nice small beach village on the westside of Syros, a short drive over the mountains from Ermoupolis. It can be easily reached by bus from the capital Ermoupolis, which is at 9 kilometers distance, It actually consists of two beaches (with some trees on it), which are separated by a short road. There are a couple of tavernas, terraces where you can have a drink, one supermarket and some accommodations that offer rooms for rent. It's only the first beach I've visited on this island, but I'm sure I will see others in the years to come. Kini is one of the better beaches of the island of Syros and just like Galissas Beach it is well known for its sunsets. It is pretty quiet here. On the beach of Kini there is a statue of a mermaid. Close to Kini towards the north and within walking distance there is another attractive and sandy beach called Delphini Beach. Nowadays you can rent beachbeds and umbrellas on both beaches. From Kini Beach there are views over the island of Kythnos.

Galissas Beach and Kini Beach are good options for the main town Ermoupolis, for people that want to explore the island but prefer to do so from a place where there is a beach. Kini Beach has a good connection by bus with the capital of the island.
