Damouchari is a village which is located on the eastern side of the Pelion peninsula, a few kilometers south of Agios Ioannis. In Damouchari there is a headland that divides the village in a natural harbor on one side and the beach on the other side. In total, the village has two beaches, both composed of pebbles and the color of the water is a beautiful greenblue. The beautiful beach of Fakistra is on walking distance.

Damouchari is an ancient village dating back to the Middle Ages. On this location a part of the movie Mama Mia was shot. In the village is the only natural harbor of northeast Pelion and thus Damouchari was quite important for the whole surrounding area.
On the headland between the beach and the harbor are the ruins of a Venetian castle. The Venetian sailors and villagers used the castle as protection from pirate attacks, but little is known about the history of the castle. There were never any excavations done on the property. Near the castle are the remains of another old building from the Turkish period. Another attraction of Damouchari is the Agios Nikolaos church where beautiful murals from around 1800 can be admired.
