Skopelos Hotels, Villas and Apartments: Where to Stay on the Island
Most hotels on Skopelos are in and around Skopelos Town, the island's largest village, while its best-value stays are two villas with private pools - Villa Nina near Glossa and Villa Ditropo in the south - that each sleep 4 for the price of a hotel room. Beyond the town, rooms, studios and apartments spread out to Loutraki, Elios, Stafylos and Faros, most with sea views and free parking. Where to stay on Skopelos
Skopelos Town (Chora) is the island's main hub and the base most visitors choose, because it holds the largest concentration of smaller hotels and pensions within walking distance of the ferry port, tavernas and shops. Beach-first stays sit outside the town: Panormos, Loutraki and Elios put you near the sand, while Glossa, Stafylos and Faros offer quieter, hillside bases. The eight properties below spread across these villages rather than the town centre.
Skopelos was a main filming island for Mamma Mia! (2008), and the Skopelos Village Hotel is widely reported to have hosted the film's cast during the shoot.

Where is the best place to stay in Skopelos?
Skopelos Town (Chora) is the best base for most visitors, because it holds the island's largest concentration of smaller hotels and pensions within walking distance of the ferry port, tavernas and shops. Panormos, Loutraki and Elios suit beach-first stays, while Glossa, Stafylos and Faros offer quieter, hillside bases away from the crowds.
Should you stay in Skopelos Town or by the beaches?
Stay in Skopelos Town for walkable ferries, shops and nightlife, or by the beaches for quieter, sea-first days. Skopelos Town keeps you close to the port and the island's services, which suits first visits and car-free trips. The beach villages of Panormos, Loutraki, Elios and Stafylos trade that walkability for direct access to the sand, and most reward having a car.
