Kampos Beach
Kampos Beach is a small pebble beach backed by a couple of houses, south-west of the villages of Skoureika and Pirgos in Marathokampos Bay, on the south coast of Samos. It lies in a stretch of coast dotted with small, quiet pebble beaches that are hardly visited, so the reward here is space and rewarding views rather than crowds. Bring your own water and sun cream, because this part of Samos has little shade and few or no tavernas.
How to get to Kampos Beach
Reach Kampos Beach over a partly unpaved dirt track from an exit just before the village of Balos, or come via the village of Koumeika. The drive runs through the quiet hills of southern Samos and gives some rewarding views along the way. Because the last stretch is a rough track and there are no facilities at the beach, carry water, sun cream and anything else you need for the day.
Beaches nearby
Kampos Beach is one of many small, quiet pebble beaches along this part of Marathokampos Bay, most of them hardly touched by tourism. Right next to Kampos Beach is another small beach called Psili Amos, which means “fine sand”. Together they make a peaceful corner of Samos for anyone looking to swim and sunbathe away from the busier resorts.
