Pefkochori or Pefkohori is a fairly large resort in the southeast of the Kassandra peninsula in Halkidiki. It is located 3 kilometers southeast of Chaniotios and it has around 1,700 inhabitants. The distance to Thessaloniki is about 105 kilometers. The place is named after the pine forests that surround the village. Pefko in Greek means "pine" and Chori or Hori means "village". In front of the village of Pefkohori is a long stretched beach with white sand and some small pebbles, and in the area within walking distance there are more and quieter bays with beaches. The beach of Pefkohori is lively and there are all kinds of facilities. Around the beach are many cafes and restaurants and you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas. Around the beach there are pine trees that provide shade. There is also on the beach of Pefkohori the opportunity to practice water sports.

Pefkohori consists of an old part and a new part. In the newer part you find especially many hotels, supermarkets, bakeries, souvenir shops, jewelers, boutiques and restaurants (from simple to luxury) for the tourists. There is a pier in the village from where daily excursion boats depart for other beaches in Halkidiki. The Dolphins Fkying boats berth here as well. You can vitit the Sithonia and Athos peninsula and view its monasteries. Pefkohori is very popular with both Greek and foreign tourists and during high season it can get quite busy in the village.

The range of accommodation in Pefkohori is diverse and quite extensive, and there are a few fairly large resorts. The old part of the village is less touristy and more quiet. Here are some more traditional tavernas and there is a nice big Orthodox church made of white and red bricks with a green dome and a separate bell tower. Behind it is a small old church and a terrace with the kafenion of the village. Along the narrow streets of Pefkohori with roses and lemon trees are stone houses, mostly in neoclassical style, and some of them have gardens with flowers in it. Furthermore the village has a bank, two gas stations, a post office and a bus station. It is nice to take a look at the old part of the village. The area around Pefkohori is popular with hikers. For lovers of nightlife there are bars and entertainment opportunities in Pefkohori. In the north of the village is a disco, but if you are looking for a truly exuberant nightlife you are better off in the northerly village of Kallithea.
