The village of Avlakia on the island of Samos in Greece
Agios Konstantinos, Kampos and Avlakia are three coastal villages in the north of Samos, let's say roughly in the middle of the island. They are a bit west of Kokkari. The area around these villages is very beautiful and very green, and especially behind Agios Konstantinos you find tall trees (the so-called nightingale forest).
There are no really good beaches in the area, unless you like pebbles, because if you do Tsabou Beach near Avlakia is very nice (at least for the eye). Between Agios Konstantinos and Kokkari are even more beaches, namely the beaches of Tsamadou and Lemonakia, which are better.
In Agios Konstantinos, which extends itself mainly along the coastline rather than in the land behind it (the village is 1 kilometer long), many nice old houses stand between the new and renovated ones. The village is perhaps more attractive than you might initially think when you see it from the main road.
Avlakia (3 km west of Kokkari) is only a very small village with a few tavernas, a few houses and a few small but pretty churches (one of which was open). The largest one is set on the edge of the village. It makes a picturesque place. You can also rent a room in Avlakia. It is situated between Agios Konstantinos and Kokkari on the north coast of Samos. In Avlakia you find two pebble beaches, and there are a few trees, so you can lie in the shade. In the village there is a large parking for cars. If you're on the road from Avlakia Karlovassi and take the first exit to your right you will go to a small pebble beach where you can lie in naturist style.
