Accommodation on Kythnos is found mostly in the port of Merichas and the spa resort of Loutra, with rooms and self-catering studios also rented near beaches such as Schinari, above Loutra, and Lefkes on the east side. Where to stay on Kythnos
Most accommodation on Kythnos is in the harbour of Merichas, and the spa resort of Loutra has a few hotels as well. Rooms and studios are also rented here and there across the island, given how many beaches it has for its size, for example at Schinari, just above Loutra, and at Lefkes on the east side. Kontseta Studios, Merichas
Kontseta Studios stands in Merichas, the port of Kythnos, a traditionally built complex of self-catering units with free Wi-Fi and views over the Aegean Sea. It lies within 30 metres of Kythnos Port and 50 metres of Martinakia Beach, opening to a balcony, with stone-paved floors, built-in beds and whitewashed walls. Each air-conditioned unit has a kitchenette with fridge and cooking hobs, a TV, a hairdryer and free toiletries. Restaurants and shops are a short walk away, Kythnos Town is 7.5 kilometres off, Dryopida 5 kilometres and Kolona Beach 8 kilometres, with free public parking on site.

Villas & self-catering
Kythnos leans to self-catering rather than large villa estates. Most of its accommodation is studios and apartments with their own kitchenette, the kind that suits a couple or a family that wants to cook and come and go on its own schedule, as at Kontseta Studios and Marietta Studios in Merichas above. Because the island has so many beaches for its size, rooms and studios are also let here and there beyond the two main centres, for example at Schinari, just above Loutra, and at Lefkes on the east side. To base a self-catering stay, Merichas keeps you by the port, the tavernas and the town beach, while Loutra sits beside the thermal springs and the northern beaches.
