Chalki Restaurants: Where to Eat on Halki
Eating on Chalki centres on Nimborio harbour and two of the beaches. Tavernas ring the bay in the village, a taverna stands on Pontamos beach and another at Ftenagia, and a bakery and supermarket in Nimborio cover self-catering.

Nimborio harbour
Nimborio is where most eating on Chalki happens. Tavernas line the horseshoe bay, beside the shops, bakery and supermarket, so the harbour is the natural place for an evening meal. There is no bank on the island, though an ATM stands by the harbour, so carry cash. Nimborio and its harbour are described in the Chalki villages guide.
Tavernas at the beaches
Two beaches on Chalki have a taverna of their own. Pontamos, the main sandy beach near Nimborio, has a taverna that also rents sunbeds and parasols. Ftenagia, the pebble cove on the other side of the village, has a taverna as well. The other beaches are unorganised, so bring your own food and water. The beaches are set out in the Chalki beaches guide.
Self-catering
Nimborio has a bakery and a supermarket, which suit the many self-catering studios and apartments on the island. Stocking up in the village makes sense, because there is no public transport, only one taxi, and few shops beyond the harbour. Where to stay is covered in the Chalki hotels guide.
