Rhodes Villas: Private Villas by Area
Private villas on Rhodes concentrate on the quiet south-east coast, where the big hotels give way to smaller buildings. This guide covers where to rent a villa on the island: the coast around Gennadi and Kiotari, the area near Lardos and Lindos, and what a Rhodes villa with a private pool typically offers. Hire a car to explore Rhodes at your own pace, covered in our Rhodes car hire guide.

Gennadi and the south-east
The south-east is the main villa area of Rhodes. Around Gennadi and Kiotari the large hotels give way to smaller buildings, and many luxury villas stand for rent beside the long, largely unspoiled beach. Gennadi keeps an authentic village feel, with a bakery, supermarkets and tavernas within a short walk. Kiotari, also called Gennadi Bay, holds newer development a little to the north. This quiet coast lies about 65 km from Rhodes Town.
Lardos and Lindos
A second cluster of villas lies further north, around Lardos and the village of Lindos. Lardos has grown into a base for larger hotels and private villas, with Pefki beach just to the east and Lindos within easy reach. Renting here puts the acropolis of Lindos, its two beaches and its tavernas close at hand. It suits travellers who want a villa but also want a lively village and a marquee sight nearby.
What a Rhodes villa offers
A Rhodes villa is a self-catering base rather than a serviced hotel. Most come with a private pool and a sun terrace, a full kitchen, air conditioning and a sea or mountain view. The villa areas sit close to a village, so a supermarket, a bakery and tavernas are usually within a few minutes' walk. This makes a villa a good fit for families and groups who want space, privacy and a quiet beach over resort facilities.
