Rethymno Villas: Private Holiday Villas in Central Crete
The Rethymno region has private holiday villas with pools on the quiet south coast, above the sunny bay of Agia Galini and near the long sandy beaches of Triopetra and Agios Pavlos. Villa Nisi, Agia Galini
Villa Nisi is a private villa on a hill above Agia Galini on the south coast, one of six villas on the same site. It sits 2.5 km from the village, whose bay is one of the sunniest corners of Crete; Hans had beautiful weather here every day at the end of October 2017. The villa offers a lot of privacy on a 2,000 m2 plot, with a private swimming pool, a roof terrace and several terraces downstairs. Agia Galini keeps its attractive beach, good restaurants, mini-markets, a pharmacy, a doctor and cash machines, and it stays open outside the tourist season. Timbaki, 11 km away, adds large supermarkets.
Triopetra Villas
Triopetra Villas are four villas for people who want peace and quiet, near Triopetra and Agios Pavlos beaches on the south coast. Two of them stand about 1 km from the beach and two about 3.5 km, all on the right side of the road, with ample parking behind the houses. Each villa is spacious, with a large downstairs living room and a well-equipped kitchen. Hans stayed here in 2011 and again in 2014, drawn back by the total quiet, the wide views and the warmth of the local people. In the small mountain villages nearby, tourism is still almost unknown.
