The village of Anissaras is situated on the north coast of the Heraklion province between the villages of Chersonissos and Analipsi. It is a village which seems to be made only for the tourists, with only shops, car rentals and hotels. The village has got a nice sandy beach, but in my opinion it doesn't really have a soul and as far as I could see there were no traditional old stone buildings or a nice old church. It could be anywhere and it seemed to have been purpose built just for tourism. The beach itself is okay though and there are parasols and sunbeds for rent. If you plan to just lie on the beach and swim in the water than it is an option. One side of the beach is "dominated" by a large luxury hotel with pools. Along the beach there are several tavernas where you can have something to eat or drink.
