Prina is a small village in the Lassithi prefecture. It lies on the route from Ierapetra in the south to Istro in the north and can be reached via the route Ierapetra - Kentri - Meseleri - Prina - Istro. Prina is north of Agios Nikolaos (24 kilometers away) and Istro with its beaches and turquoise bays are ot far away. The village of Prina is surrounded by forests of pine trees and fields of olive trees and it lies at the foot of a small hill on which stands the Timios Stavros church. It is a small traditional village with narrow streets. There are a few tavernas and some shops in and around Prina. Besides the Timios Stavros church there are four other churches in the village.
