<The village of Kalamitsi on the island of Crete
The small village of Kalamitsi (consists of two different parts with different extra - last - name) lies in the beautiful green Apokoronas area (between Souda and Rethimnon) not far from Vamos, Vrysses and Georgioupoli. There is not much to tell about Kalamitsi besides that it's quiet and sleepy. The area is a bit confusing as far as the names they have given to the villages. They are called Kalamitsi Alexandrou and Kalamitsi Amigdali. When one village stops the next one begins. On some of the maps they are simply called Alexandrou and Amigdali (without the Kalamitsi) on other maps they do not make a difference and they just call the both of them "Kalamitsi".
