The village of Katochori or Katohori on Crete

Katochori is a small village south of the Souda Bay and is accessible from the highway (exit Megala Chorafia - Malaxa - Kountopoula - Katochori or exit Nerokouros and then to Katochori). In Katochori is the beginning of the walk through the gorge of Diktamos which is about 7 kilometer long and ends in the village of Stylos with its Byzantine church of Agios Ioannis Theologos. In and around Katochori itself are also a few nice churches. It is mainly agricultural area with olive groves and fields with herds of sheep. I give you also a glimpse into the Agios Georgios church on the village square which was accidentally open because the Pappas was there.
