The village of Psathogiannos on Crete
The small traditional Cretan village Psathogiannos lies in the fertile region southwest of Chania. Here you will find many orchards with oranges and lemons. Psathogiannos can be reached from Chania over the - Oasis - Agia Lake (eit) - Alkianos - Psathogiannos route, or from the other side from the coastal village of Gerani. Psathogiannos is a typical small village with a beautifully maintained church with a bell tower, a war memorial and small white stone houses. Nearby are a couple of nice villages with Byzantine churches, like for instance Alkianos.
Just outside the village you can find an old Turkish well from which it is better not to drink the water (so the sign says).
