The village of Kotsiana on the island of Crete

Kotsiana is a small village located in the Chania district. It can be reached from the main road that runs between Kissamos and Kolimbari if you take the exit to Koleni at Nopigia. In this part of the Chania district you will find some beautiful Byzantine churches, such as the ones in Drakona and in Spilia. Also one of the most impressive excavations (in my opinion) on the island, the ancient city of Rokka, is on a nearby cliff.
Kotsiana is a small village where there are two churches, including the St. Ioannis Theologos church, which located at the cemetery of the village. In the village about one hundred people live. There are not many facilities in the village, but there is a very good restaurant that is mostly visited by the Greeks because it is not on the tourist route.

Here we have had a delicious (and cheap) lunch. We ordered the fried zucchini balls, the spicy cheese, the green salad, the boureki (an oven platter of vegetables and potatoes) and the white wine. It is all very tasty and the portions are huge. We also get delicious toasted bread on the table with olive oil and garlic. The service is very friendly. Top restaurant.
Our verdict: a 9+ out of 10
